Salad is the most convenient meal to cook. And you know why? Because you can make it almost from anything you have at your kitchen. For example, you can cook a tasty salad from the following ingredients:

potatoes

oranges

apples

mayonnaise

firm tofu

greenery to your taste

Choosing the dosage for each of them is up to you. It depends on taste of what product you want to show more and of course on how much of each ingredients you have at hand.

So, today we are cooking Yiddish fruit pudding. It’s a great vegetarian dessert which is naturally sweet thanks to fruit contained in it. Makes about 8 servings.

Ingredients:

one 12- to 16-ounce package of eggless flat noodles or fettuccine-type pasta

2 large cooking apples (Macintosh, Granny Smith, Empire, Rome, or other semi-tart variety.)

2 large ripe pears, any variety

1/2 cup raisins, any color

3 large bananas, at very ripe stage

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

small amount of oil or melted vegan margarine for pan

1 teaspoon vegan margarine, optional

Cook noodles in boiling unsalted water until they are cooked so as to be firm when eaten. Drain them and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 deg F. Mix chopped apples and pears with raisins in a bowl. In another bowl mix mashed bananas with the noodles and cinnamon. Spread one-third of the noodle and banana mixture into the pan. Place one-third of the fruit mixture on top of the noodles. Repeat this layering process two more times until all ingredients are used up. Top it with margarine and bake for about 45 minutes.
