‘Cheese’ Vegetarian Desserts: Cherry Cake

vegetarian Cherry Cake It doesn’t require a lot of efforts to make a tasty cherry ‘cheese’ cake. Of course when we say ‘cheese’ we mean nondairy cream cheese. Ingredients are the following:

  • 2 8-oz. containers Tofutti plain nondairy cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Dash vanilla
  • Graham cracker crust
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

The oven has to be preheated to 350°F. Then we take the nondairy cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla and pour into the graham cracker crust and blend it all together. After you get a paste put on a pan and bake for about 60 minutes until the top is golden brown. Take it out and wait till it gets cold.

Then put it into refrigerator for at least 8 hours. You can say: ‘Hey, you forgot about cherries!’ Don’t worry, it’s not time for them yet. After 8 or more hours in a fridge cover top of the “cheese” cake with the cherry pie filling and allow it to chill for at least one hour more. By the way, you can use fresh pitted sweet cherries.
